2028
This photo captures the excavation of the long-awaited Balboa Reservoir project, located right next to the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) Ocean Campus (the multi-use building is visible on the right). Here is the breakdown of the project and its affordable housing details: The Affordable Housing Breakdown 50% Affordable Units: Out of the approximately 1,100 planned homes in this master development, exactly 50% (around 550 units) are designated as permanently affordable housing. Target Incomes: These affordable homes are intended for low- to moderate-income households earning between 30% and 130% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Educator Housing: The development also specifically includes affordable housing set aside for CCSF and SFUSD educators and staff. What’s Being Built First (Phase 1A) The construction activity you see in the photo is part of Phase 1A (which began site preparation and infrastructure work in late 2025). This phase kicks off with two entirely affordable residential structures: Building E: A 7-story building containing 128 units of 100% affordable family housing. Building A: A 6-story building containing 159 units of 100% affordable family housing. Additional Master Plan Features Once fully completed (anticipated around 2028 for the initial buildings), the new neighborhood will feature: 4 acres of publicly accessible open space (including a central "Reservoir Park" with play areas and community gardens). A 100-seat childcare center (with half the slots reserved for low-income families). Brand new pedestrian walkways, protected bikeways, and updated local streets www.forum4hk.com www.8964hk.blogspot.com www.right4hk.blogspot.com
